Mark Shepard is an engineer, businessman, former Vermont State Senator, and member of the Board of Directors of the Christian Education Initiative (CEI). He is committed to helping families, churches, and Christian leaders recover a thoroughly biblical worldview and restore Christ-centered education as a vital part of Christian discipleship.

Mark believes that education is never neutral and that children are to be taught from the foundation of God's Word in every area of life. His work encourages parents and churches to embrace their biblical responsibility for educating the next generation and equipping young people to think and live faithfully under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

After earning degrees in electrical engineering and founding a successful engineering company, Mark served two terms in the Vermont State Senate, where he gained firsthand experience in public policy and government. His experiences in both the public and private sectors have strengthened his conviction that lasting cultural transformation begins with the discipleship of children through faithful Christian education rather than political solutions alone.

Through his service with CEI, Mark advocates for biblical worldview education, educational liberty, and the renewal of Christian culture through strong families, churches, homeschools, and independent Christian schools. He is passionate about helping believers apply the truth of Scripture to every sphere of life and encouraging a new generation to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Mark and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of four sons and reside in Virginia.
