John is a Christian author (Courage to Stand:  Profiles of Enduring FaithConflicted:  Pulling Back the Curtain on Public Education) and host of The State of State Schools Podcast; He also creates online courses for homeschoolers (Master Books Academy).  John was homeschooled for about half of his K-12 education before working as a teacher and a coach for 13 years in both public and private schools.  His homeschool background, coupled with his experience teaching in the nation’s third largest public school system, provide a unique perspective on education that parents and teachers will want to hear.

John's wife Jenna is an attorney and John loves to brag that she was the Valedictorian of her class in Law School!  John and Jenna live in Wheaton, Illinois with their son Teddy and dog Kirby.  Outside of his salvation, John says being with Jenna and raising their son has been the highlight of his life.

John left his teaching career after working for Chicago Public Schools in 2020-2021.  During that year (the year of Covid lockdowns) he witnessed radical ideologies being taught in mandatory teacher training—things like Critical Race Theory, Gender Ideology, and Parental Secrecy Policies (which hide gender transitions from parents, for example).  These ideologies shaped school policies and practices which he was expected to implement in his classroom with students as young as 5 years old.  This was an eye-opening experience for John, as he’d never witnessed anything so blatantly radical and ideologically driven in his teaching career.  John's heart breaks for the children who are stuck in a school system that’s brainwashing them to hate God, America’s traditional Christian values, and even their own parents.

As John continues to learn more each day about the history of America’s public school system—a topic he says he knew very little about during his years as a public school teacher—his goal is to share what he learns with parents, churches, and homeschool families.  John never thought he’d become an author or host a podcast, but he's thrilled to be on the path God has placed in front of him.  John is committed to the work of 1) rescuing families from our humanist government school system and 2) sharing resources that will help parents provide their children with a Christian education and a biblical worldview.
