After the ratification of the American Constitution, the First Congress convened and built a government from the ground up. New states entered the union. As challenges arose, new opportunities also arose for God to show his providential care. The War of 1812 challenged the cohesion of the union.  The attack of the Barbery Pirates challenged the President and the Congress. Inventors received inspiration and gave credit to God for his help. Tensions arose over slavery and came to a boil leaving President Lincoln to face a terrible decision.

Teach the Children:

1.     God’s providential hand brings challenges to strengthen us when we stand fast and call upon Him.

2.     We learn from adversities many lessons that give our lives meaning and bless others.
